Learning aims: To visit a place where students can see directly that have been explained in the classroom by experts or by teachers.
Short description: Ealp provides teachers with a list of possible energy visits or RES location situated around our area. In this list it is included: where to go, duration of the visit, what to see, why, who to contact, opening timetables, possible costs for entrances etc. Teachers decide autonomously where to bring pupils, after we give them suggestions on what could be more interesting to see. In order to do this Ealp have contacted many farm houses or other companies having RES installation and have made agreements with them
to show children their installation (solar or pv panels), tell them benefits (both economic and environmental) or problems they may have had. Then in Livorno we have the PV cable cart and it's a nice visit to do.
Reflection: The visit to an energy location is always useful in order to complete the activity of environmental and energy education. In fact it is very important that children can see with their eyes what they have learnt in books or through experiments in the classroom.
