Was held Tuesday, April 27, at the headquarters of the Mountain Community, the second meeting of the Forum on community projects EGS - Energy Education Governance and Sustainable Schools Now, both financed by the EU under the "Intelligent Energy".
The two projects are dedicated to local sustainable energy: EGS is targeted at high schools in the area and has the objective of a tangible energy savings through greater dissemination of knowledge and best practices and implementation of targeted projects. The “Sustainable now” project foresees the establishment instead of an energy plan local action to reduce consumption in the municipalities involved. The first meeting of the Forum was attended by public officials, representatives of associations, environmental groups, schools, private companies and on that occasion was made an analysis of energy problems of the territory and Schools.
Based on the results of this analysis, the meeting of Tuesday, have been developed proposals for resolving energy issues emerged.
In practice was defined a draft energy action plan, that the next and last meeting of the Forum will ultimately approve.
Meanwhile, the forum participants are engaged in the preparation of project sheets designed to advance its objectives.
Under the EGS program will then conducted a feasibility study of projects most representative, and one of them will be realized in the school leader (IPSIA “Cavour – Marconi” in Piscille).
Nowadays, meanwhile, will begin the training course "Sustainability and alternative energy", organized by the Mountain Community in collaboration with the same project leader EGS school, to provide instruments and materials for teachers to environmental education.

Schools are some of the most important public energy consumers, because of their size, their number and their construction and technical equipment. Energy efficiency in schools can contribute to climate protection and relief of community budgets. Primarily it offers the background, against which young people can learn skills for a sustainable lifestyle and active participation in their society.
For that reason, the International school congress "Energy efficiency in schools" will take place on the 7th - 8th October 2010 in Stralsund. It is also the final event in the European project, Energy – Education – Governance – Schools (EGS).
The event is aimed at schoolchildren, teachers, decision makers and multipliers in Germany and Europe. It is an opportunity to exchange experiences on good approaches to energy efficiency and renewable energies in schools. This includes pedagogical and technical aspects as well as management.
Representatives of such projects are heartily invited to present a poster or to hold a workshop. Such contribution should be announced by 31st July 2010.

Internationaler Schulkongress "Energieeffizienz in Schulen": Tagungsankündigung und „Call for papers“ |

Energy and Environmental Education in Europe – More than Diversity |

24°C is a major temperature difference – more than what differentiates an average summer day from a winter day in many places in Europe. 24°C – and consequently worlds – separate students and teachers, who are committed to responsible handling of energy in various countries throughout Europe. This is what the partners of the European Project of Energy Education Governance Schools (EGS) determined at the beginning of March 2010 at an international forum in Järvenpää, Finland:
The Romanian representative, Horatiu Soim (Western University ‘Vasile Goldis’ Arad) reported than many schools in his country are poorly heated in winter and that the lowest temperatures taken in classrooms were 3-4°C. On the other hand, the Umweltbüro Nord e.V., which supports German schools in saving energy and climate protection, measured a maximum value of over 27°C, also in the winter.
