EGS pamphlet published at www.egs-project.eu
Stralsund: The energy revolution - to rise energy efficiency and to switch from fossil to renewable energy sources - is one of the most serious challenges, mankind is facing in the 21st century. How can schools make their students fit for this task? This is the topic of the pamphlet “Join us for the energy revolution!”
Secondary and vocational schools from 10 European countries have developed and implemented good practice in the project „Energy Education Governance Schools“ (EGS). They joined national “energy saving weeks”, they elaborated an “energy guide” for the school and they carried out “energy-chats”. They built a model of a passive house or organized the „clever driving competition“. They saved powerfully energy in their own buildings. Last but not least, they organized “local forums” in order gain partners for new energy efficiency measures.
The outcomes of the project – training plans, classroom lessons, good practice examples, tools for an environmental management in schools, the local forums methodology and much more – are published at the website www.egs-project.eu.
The pamphlet “Join us for the energy revolution!” summarises these results and outcomes and, thus, can be used as a guide for energy projects by actors in schools and local communities. The pamphlet is available in English and other European languages like German, French and Italian. It can be downloaded as PDF-version from the EGS website, and it can be ordered as paper version from the Environmental Office North, registered association,
